This ruggedized backshell solution meets the demanding reliability requirements of train control networks while withstanding extreme mechanical stresses.Engineered as a Two Piece Backshell, this component provides dual-level protection against both impact damage and electromagnetic interference, critical for maintaining safety-critical communications in CBTC systems.Supporting 25 positions, the design accommodates redundant signal paths required by EN 50159 safety standards while preventing cross-channel interference.Specifically developed for Round railway cables, the integrated clamping system maintains constant contact pressure despite thermal cycling from -40 C to +85 C.The 45° configuration allows for secure cable routing along rolling stock frames while providing strain relief during constant vibration exposure.Featuring Shielded performance, the backshell exceeds EN 50121-3-2 emissions standards while providing immunity to 10V/m RF fields common in electrified rail environments.Constructed from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), the housing withstands mechanical impacts up to 50J per EN 61373 Category 1 Class B vibration and shock requirements.The Nickel surface treatment prevents fretting corrosion during continuous vibration, maintaining contact integrity through 10 million stress cycles.Including Assembly Hardware, Strain Relief, the assembly maintains clamping force integrity despite constant vibration up to 100Hz per EN 50155 operational requirements.The Mating Screws 4-40 implementation enables one-handed operation with gloved hands, crucial for maintenance in adverse weather conditions while meeting IP67 sealing standards.
